SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A controversial campaign ad for a senate seat has one California lawmaker claiming it’s pure racism.

The ad opens with a gong and shows a woman bicycling through a rice field in China before speaking to the camera in broken English.

SAN DIEGO -- A 10News I-Team investigation into faulty and fake air bags being placed inside cars has led to results.

In 2009, the I-Team looked into the car involved in a crash that killed an 18-year-old man. An investigation showed air bags in the car the man was riding in did not deploy.

The I-Team also learned the auto repair shop where the man's parents bought the car had stuffed air bags with newspaper.

SAN DIEGO -- University of California, San Diego student Sarah Pfeil needs $2,000 more for tuition this fall. That's how much it went up across the board for all in-state UC undergraduates. Tuition alone is $11,300 a year.

"I'm pretty angry about it," said Pfeil.
